Greatest Guitar Solo Ever

Did you know Prince could play like this? He just shuts Tom Petty down. News to me. Just the title of the song alone is genius....While my Guitar Gently Weeps.

  1. You need to treat yourself to Prince's Purple Rain album and movie. You won't be disappointed. I also did a Saturday post featuring Prince. I think that if you go to my blog and type Prince into the search it will pull it up.

  2. Hi there, Carol... is that NOT great?!?!?!

I knew Prince was talented, but he tears that guitar UP!!

Great players in that video besides Tom Petty and Prince... Jeff Lynn... of Electric Light Orchestra sings the bridge... the young fellow to Tom Petty's left is Dani Harrison, George Harrison's son. He looks just like his Dad.

This was one of George Harrison's songs... on the White Album (BeaTles), Eric Clapton played the solos...

I like the part after Prince finishes the solo... he tosses the guitar straight up in the air... and struts off the stage.

GREAT Video... Prince also has some cool 'guitar faces'... ;o)

  3. I wasn't sure who all the other players were but Prince was just in rare form and thought it was great. I knew it was a George Harrison song infact, I think it was some sort of tribute to George. Prince was just so cool and in control. I also watch some of Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb and that has some great guitar solos as well. Got carried away and then watched BB King, Clapton, and Muddy Waters.

  5. Prince has always been a way underrated guitar player and this is a perfect example of that. Thanks for posting.
