Meet Me on Monday

Questions:

1. What are you wearing right now?

2. Do you have any freckles?

3. What is your favorite Lifesaver flavor?

4. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?

5. Would you rather live without TV or without music?

My Answers:

1.  I am wearing a blue night gown with lace and pearls and matching robe.  One of my favorites.

Kinda like this but in a tiffany blue
I mean it is warm and humid here and our AC is on for the first time in months so.  No, I look nothing like her.

2.  Nope, not really freckles.  Probably sunspots for my years of loving the beach, and all things sunny.

3.  Hmmm...pineapple....or tangerine.  I hope those are Lifesaver flavors.

4.  The last movie....was Toy Story 3 I think (theatre) or Date Night here on Blu Ray.  Date Night was really funny...of course I love Tina Fey so how could I not like it.  She says to Marky Mark (shirtless)Wahlberg..."I bet you do all kinds of things right."  I cracked up!

5.  Oh gosh I'd have to live without the TV.  I love music, I can't imagine a day without music.  I have a feeling I would accomplish more and read more without the TV.  I catch myself so much of the time ... it is just mindlessly playing in the background of my day...I'm not watching or listening so I change it to a music channel anyway.

Thank you Java for hosting again this week.  Remember to be kind to each other.  Do something nice this week for someone...just because you can.  Don't expect anything in return.  See what happens.

See you on Wordless Wednesday...I'm working on a movie so we shall see how I do....

First Florida Flip Flop day in February

Try saying that three times fast!  Sunday, February 20 was the first day I wore flip flops here in Florida, for the entire day.  So, I took a picture to share.  It's Navy Blue polish not black just for the record.  The flip flops are my absolute favorite black Okabashi's.

Be kind to each other.  Tell someone you love them today.  Smile everytime you realize your not smiling.

Jackson Browne - These Days

February 20th....my Daddy's birthday. I've thought about him all day. Today he would have been 80. I can't imagine Daddy being 80....he was so full of life. You never knew what he was going to say or do. He was one of those people you were always so happy to see. He had a certain engery to him.

I think about him almost everyday. I haven't forgotten. Some days I think of him more than others, no rhyme or reason. I have a feeling he is having a party today in Heaven. I love you Daddy...always have, always will.

My Favorite Things ******Third edition*****

I think every woman has to learn through the years what works and what doesn't for her and her home. I have things that I just so fall in love with. I want to share these items with you all and see if you have used them and if you love them as much as I do or would you consider using them. I am not getting compensated in anyway for this. These are things that work, or perform well out of a sea of others that I have used and been disappointed in. So without further delay here we go.......drum roll.........

1.  Turbie Twist

I love these things, so much so that I pack them when I travel, they make a perfect little gift for that special girlfriend who has everything...put one in with your favorite shampoo, conditioner and hairspray ...and you have a gift any girl would love.  They don't slip. They hold your hair out of your way while you are applying makeup or treatments.  You no longer have to try and balance that huge towel on your head.  The elastic loop holds the twist secure until you are ready to style your hair.  I just love them.  I usually order mine from QVC and I get 6 for about $28 dollars.  Bed Bath and Beyond has them too just not all the fun prints I've found at QVC.  Check them out.

2.  Life Is Good Snuggle Socks

These socks are the best for lounging around the house.  They are so soft and they just cuddle your feet.  I've purchased these for my kids, my Grandchildren and even the Hubz loves his pair.  They are so comfortable and they hold up well. Another good gift idea.  Tuck them in a gift bag with shower gel and lotion.  About $10 dollars.  Sometimes you can find them at TJ Maxx if you are extremely lucky.  Or just order from Lifeisgood.com

3.

Sebastian Shaper Zero Gravity hair spray

I have never liked hair spray.  I know it is a necessary part of life if you are a woman, but it always makes me choke and I feel makes my hair look stiff and like it isn't touchable....until...I found this product.  I used to use the regular Shaper spray and it was OK.... but I love this product. It holds your hair just enough, but it feels light and not sticky at all.  Give it a try, let me know what you think.

Until next time.....

Remember to hug someone too tight.  Be kind to one another.

Meet Me on Monday

It's time again to get to know each other better.  Time for Meet me on Monday Questions and Answers.  Thank you again Java for hosting each week.

Questions:

1. Did you get any Valentine's Gifts?

2. What is your favorite topping on something toasted?

3. Do you pick out your outfit the night before?

4. What food item do you absolutely despise?

5. Righty or lefty?

My Answers:

1.  Not yet, it isn't Valentine's Day yet...but I had my eye on a ring I really liked.  I have gotten clearance for a shopping trip that involves some new dresses and sandals for the upcoming summer.  I know it makes people sick but I realize how blessed I am everyday to have a love like mine in my life.

2.  What is your favorite topping on something toasted?  Chopped fresh tomatoes, roasted red peppers, fresh basil, olive oil, salt and peper and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.  I could eat it everyday I do believe.

3.  No, I used to.  Now...I just go with the feeling or what I am doing that day.  I just try not to make any huge fashion mistakes if I am going out in public.  Otherwise, I might stay in my jammies all day.

4.  What food item do you absolutely despise?  Easy...Liver.  Yuck!

5.  Righty.  Not much else to say about that...never tried to be a lefty

Hope you all have a great week and Happy Valentine's Day!  If you love someone tell them, look them in the eye, give them lots of kisses and hugs.  You never know how long you have with each other.

Goodbye... Friday Night Lights...and Tim!

Some things in life just don't add up. Take me and Friday Night Lights for instance. It must be true that opposites attract. Number one ...I don't like Football, never have. Number two....I was not a Cheerleader, never wanted to be one either. Three...I've never lived in Texas. So....all that being said why would I love the show Friday Night Lights?

I always wanted to watch this show on Friday night. However, it came on here on Wednesday night. Seemed crazy to me.  That was a huge problem, never could remember that one.  What saved me was... t Direct TV had another showing on the 101 on Friday night. Someone out there must be as loopy as me.

OK, maybe I loved it because it takes place in the South right? I do love several of the characters. I did date a football player and the games were exciting.... I guess. I had to ask the score when the game ended....I was too busy talking with my girlfriends. Who knows? I just know it made no logical sense at all...but I feel in love with FNL.

I got hooked on this show several years ago and this week was the Finale. I think it ran for five seasons. I hate to see shows that I fall in love with come to an end. I lost Joan, then Ally, then Tony and Carmella. Heck, I even hated to see J.R. go. I only survived losing Sex in the City because they were going to make movies and their was a hope that Carrie would one day marry Big and I could see Charlotte again.

Now I have to come to terms with no more Tim Riggins???

Say it ain't so!!! That is going to be difficult for me people!! Tim Riggins is ....well, my gracious ...be still my heart. Then, there is the Coach. Coach Eric Taylor and those brown eyes peering underneath the brim of his hat. He is such a good man, few words, but insightful and caring. He made the ultimate sacrifice for Tammy...she got the promotion of her dreams. She is to be Dean of Admissions at a real college...in Philly. So the best Coach in Texas, who just secured the third State Championship for Dillon, packs up to move on....afterall things have changed. Julie is engaged to Matt and is now living in Chicago. Due to budget cuts, the School Board has made the decision to merge East Dillon and West Dillon into one Super team and Eric can't go back. He can no longer be a Panther again. A Coach can only take so much

Now I will have to wonder ....who does Tim settle down with? Are the twins boys or girls or one of each? Luke apparently enlisted..so will he make it back home to Dillon safely? Where in the H is Landry? What about Lyla? Will Tammy really be able to live without her cowboy boots or just be a fashionista in Philly? Set a trend maybe? Will Coach really be happy away from Texas and the "boosters"? What in the world will Buddy do without Eric Taylor? Good thing he owns a bar, I think he's gonna need it. Will Vince make it without Coach Taylor's intuitive nurturing? Will Vince's Dad stay out of his way and allow him to make his own decisions and not drag him down?

Did any of you watch? Were you sad it ended? I hope they do a movie in a few years. I'd like to see these characters again. Maybe it would go a little something like this.....I'd have Riggins be the New Coach of the Panthers. Billy would help him of course as an assistant Coach. Mindy and Luke would get married and take over his Parents farm. Matt becomes a well known artist and he and Julie move to New York with a second home (ranch) outside of Dallas. Eric gets an offer from the Cowboys and Tammy misses Texas... so they move back home with Gracie Bell. Landry is now a Surgeon living in Dallas along with Tyra who is an attorney with political abmbitions. Buddy is of course the Mayor of Dillon and working on a new Football/Sports park for the town. Vince's Mom is now the Counselor at Dillon and doing great, she marries the Principal form East Dillon.

Ahh....I could imagine so many endings. As my dear Memom used to say ....All good things must come to an end. I'm gonna miss you Friday Night Lights. I'm really going to miss you Tim Riggins! Good thing it will be on NetFlix.

This pretty much sums up why I feel the way I do about this television show...it made you think about who you are or want to be.

Remember be kind to each other....

More Awards!!! Thank you Food Floozie

It's one of those days.  It's been one of those months.  It's been a couple of months of the same.  Imagine how lovely to sign on today...and scroll through and find I had been given awards from my friend

at http://foodfloozie.blogspot.com/
she has some great recipes there!  Delish!
Surprised?  Much!!!

Happy?  Me!!!

Here are the awards

That my friends, is a triple whammy!

So, I have to answer questions, 5 I think and pass on some things about me.  Questions are easy but what do you all not know about me by now?  Hmmm...

Questions first.

1 If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you'd started out anonymously so that you could be anonymous now?

I don't really blog anonymously, just enough to feel somewhat safe.  I really have nothing to hide.

2.  Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?

Lots, I'd like to do one really beautiful painting that I feel completely at peace with.

3.  When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person or always ditching?

I always made good grades without much effort so that left me plenty of time to socialize.  I did cut class, and I'm glad I did.  Never the shy person.

4.  Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events?

It is easy for me to share my true self in my blog, although I have to be in the right frame of mind to do so.  I don't like to write when I'm feeling down, because who wants to read about all of your problems.  Also, your life starts to sound like an episode of Jerry Springer....not a good thing.

5  When you take time for yourself, what do you do?

I love to lay in bed and pray.  I do my nails, I love to drink a big glass of juice every night while watching a good movie.  In the summer of course I love going to the beach for the day.

Now for the tidbits of intrigue!

I love LOVE getting a good massage.  My best est friend is the best est Massage Therapist and it hurts so good!  After she gives me one of her special massages I feel so relaxed and have been sleeping better (sometimes 12 hours) and my blood pressure is down as well.  She is such a blessing in my life.  If you suffer from any kind of chronic pain I highly recommend getting a therapeutic massage.

I love to cook.  I love doing anything creative really and cooking is a form of creativity.  The only thing is I'm not good at just making something out of what I have on hand kinda cook.  I love having fresh herbs, produce in season, fresh bread, really good ingredients and plenty of them then I can create.  So, for the most part I go shopping with no plan really (most of the time) then I come home and create meals until the supply is low and start all over again.  I also love one pot meals in the Winter.  I have certain things I only make in the Winter and certain things I only make in the spring summer.  That's just how I roll.  For instance, Banana Pudding in the Winter is just wrong to me.

I love silk and satin.  Silk and satin anything.  If I see a pretty shirt or Cami in satin or silk....I have to have it....but how many Camisoles or Jammies does one woman need?  I'm not a sleep in a T shirt kinda gal.  I want old movie star long flowing night gowns, I like lace, if seed pearls are hand sewn on JACKPOT!  I do love a good cotton nightgown in the Summer but they are so difficult to find these days.

Now to pass these on to some of my favorite Bloggers.  I love reading your blogs and I am happy HAPPY to pay it forward.  I know some of you have one of these awards, maybe all of them who knows....but know that I thought of you and pass them on to others please.  I hope it thrills each of you as much as I have been thrilled.

My dear friend Debby at Just Breathe http://skyesofblue.blogspot.com/

My friend Heather at http://ourlifeinaclick.blogspot.com/

My other friend, Ruth, another Southern Belle at http://thisgritstale.blogspot.com/

Oh and Roz over at   http://bellavita-bellasblog.blogspot.com/ I love her blog so much.  It is my dream blog.  It is beautiful to look at and so many good recipes and she does this Fresh and Clean Friday where you find so many great ideas and oh....just too much to explain ....you have to check it out.

And finally Monica over at http://naturallighting.blogspot.com/  She has such beautiful photographs each day to enjoy.

Remember....be kind to each other.  Hug someone you love way too tight.

100 followers! Unbelieveable

My morning started out like every other morning.  I made coffee, turned the fire on and I signed on to Blogger like I normally do .... to see what all of you morning people have posted.  I usually enjoy reading your posts while sipping a cup of Italian roast coffee.  I sometimes find interesting posts that make me think, some inspiring photographs, yummy recipes and sometimes a friend in need of a prayer.  Sometimes I have an occasional comment.

I have to apologize to all of you.  I am terrible about taking the time to comment.  I really don't know why.  I read through and have intentions on coming back and posting comments to each of you.  Maybe it is just time consuming, maybe it is because Blogger drives me crazy with pop up blockers and verification codes...who knows or it could be I have a difficult time staying on task.

This morning ... I noticed that I now have 100 followers!  I could not believe it!  How in the HECK did that happen?  I haven't been blogging quite a year, just really started to journal pictures, ideas, feelings etc..and then I found all of you.  Wonderful online friends with great ideas, interesting points of view, support and it really has been fun for me.  I am blown away that anyone finds what I post interesting and that number of 100....just crazy!  I've learned so much from reading about all of you.  Reading about your lives, your hobbies, you loves, you hopes and dreams and your struggles.  I'm just really surprised...pleasantly...that I have so many friends, and a couple awards!  Cool!

Due to life throwing me some really hum dingers (southern saying) lately...I haven't been blogging as much as I would like.  I do read however, almost everyday..twice a day.  Anywhoo....I just wanted to say Thank you to those of you who do read, comment and care.  You mean so much to me.

I wanted to take the time to let you know that....virtual hugs!

Here's to You Robin!

Week after week, my dear friend Robin@Yourdailydose takes her time to choose the perfect song or video to let each of us know that our blogs and lives are important to her. This week she was feeling really not up to taking the time for all of us. She said don't look for a Here's To You Thursday posting.

I'd like to post this one for you Robin...and tell you how awesome you are for taking the time each week for those of us who you call friends. You listen, you care and that is being a friend..

You Rock!

Carol-the gardener

P.S.  If you are a friend of Robin's take the time to send her a "little love".  Shoes had a wonderful idea....everyone send her a video, song, picture something to lift her spirit and let her know how much we all appreciate her each week.
