James Taylor - Shower the People (Live/1988)

I've always loved this song. This week I find myself singing it often. I guess it helps me deal with things. Things are gonna turn out allright if you only will..

You can run but you cannot hide. This is widely known. What you plan do with your foolish pride when you're all by yourself alone. Once you tell somebody the way that you feel you can feel it beginning to leave I guess its true what they say about the squeeky wheel always getting the grease.

Shower the people you love with love...show them the way that you feel..things are gonna be much better if you only will. You'll feel better right away.

Sometimes you have to practice tough love for those that deserve it, it is tough too, believe me. But remember to share your love freely and often with those you love deeply especially loved ones that might need you. Remember to the world, you may be but one person, but to one person you might be the world.

  2. It is true about the squeaky wheel getting the grease. And that is necessary, but sometimes the other wheels need attention, too. I've always loved that song. I remember wearing out my JT Greatest Hits cassette tape in college. Loved this song and all of the others. Lots of wisdom there. And love. I know that you have taken some hard knocks lately. Sometimes you just have to love with an open hand and heart. And hope for the best. Know that you have done your best and give yourself a break. You are not the only person in it. Every relationship has at least TWO people in it, and that means two people have to put forth an effort to make it work. If one person is doing all of the work... well that is exhausting and unfair. And will ultimately end in epic fail. And you can take that on yourself if you are the one doing the work, but it isn't your fault. Like I said, love with an open hand and open heart. Do your best. That is all you can do. No one can ask for more. No one can do more. Love you.

  3. James Taylor... the man... God, I love his voice, his guitar style... his gentleness. I have seen him the past four times he's come to Memphis, and if he wants to come to Memphis four more times.

The past couple of days haven't been nice... I needed this. Thanks.

By the way, I'm gonna borrow this...

    Ha!

    With Love,
